If you’ve been driving your car along Highway 28 between Mayville and Horicon recently you might have noticed a new “black river” along the side of the road. That’s the exciting new pavement on the Gold Star Memorial Trail!

Our contractor will be shouldering, installing rails and installing the concrete detectable warning pads at road crossings within the next week or so. Dodge County Parks staff will be installing the posts and signs shortly after.

The trail will be open for people to walk, run, bike, hike, and roll on Veteran’s Day. For folks who’d rather cross-country ski or snowshoe, the trail will not be plowed in the winter. Please respect all trail users.

Our official grand opening is scheduled on June 1, 2019 which is National Trails Day.
